A Mother-Daughter Escape to The Maybourne Beverly Hills

As a mom, I know how quickly the years go by. Between school, activities, work and everything else life brings, uninterrupted time together can be hard to come by. That's why our recent mother-daughter getaway to The Maybourne Beverly Hills was so special. It gave us a chance to step away from our routines, spend quality time together and make memories I know we'll both look back on for years to come.

Tucked into Beverly Hills' Golden Triangle, The Maybourne is within walking distance of Rodeo Drive, beautiful shops, restaurants and some of the city's most recognizable streets. After checking into our suite overlooking Beverly Canon Gardens, we settled in for a weekend that was equal parts relaxing and fun.

We started with lunch at The Terrace, the hotel's garden restaurant. Sitting outside beneath the umbrellas, we enjoyed fresh Mediterranean-inspired dishes while watching people come and go through the gardens. It was one of those meals where nobody was in a hurry, and that set the tone for the rest of the trip.

One thing we noticed throughout our stay was how genuinely kind everyone was. Whether we were checking in, asking for directions, or spending time at the pool, every interaction felt warm and personal.

One of my daughter's favorite moments came that afternoon, when we climbed into a bright pink electric MOKE named Maybel for a private tour around Beverly Hills. Driving through the neighborhoods with the top down, passing beautiful homes, Rodeo Drive, and the famous palm-lined streets, made us both feel like kids. We laughed the entire ride, and it turned out to be one of those experiences we'll always remember.

The next morning, we decided to take it slow and ordered breakfast to our room. The butterscotch pancakes absolutely lived up to the hype, and sharing breakfast together while looking out over the gardens turned out to be one of my favorite moments of the trip.

Later that afternoon, we headed to Dante Poolside on the rooftop. We spent a few hours relaxing in a cabana, enjoying light bites and drinks while taking in the views over Beverly Hills. We even spotted a very recognizable celebrity enjoying the pool nearby. We'll leave that part of the story a mystery.

If you visit, I definitely recommend timing your afternoon around Dante's Martini Hour. From 3 to 5 p.m., their signature martinis are just $10, making it a fun stop before dinner. We finished the evening back at The Terrace before taking a walk through Beverly Hills as the sun began to set. The streets were still full of people, the storefronts were glowing, and it was the perfect ending to the day.

On our last morning, I slipped away for a little quiet time at The Spa at The Maybourne while our niece stayed with my daughter. The spa includes a mineral pool, eucalyptus steam rooms and peaceful lounges that made it easy to completely unplug, even if only for an hour.

Back in our room, we spent the rest of the morning doing exactly what mother-daughter trips are meant for. We put on face masks, relaxed in our robes, watched "Zootopia 2," shared a few desserts, and talked about everything and nothing at all. Those simple moments together ended up being some of my favorites.

As we checked out, valet brought around our electric vehicle with a full charge, a thoughtful surprise we weren't expecting and one last reminder of the attention to detail we experienced throughout our stay.

Of course, I'll remember the beautiful hotel, the delicious meals and the rooftop views. But when I think back on this trip, what stands out most is seeing everything through my seven-year-old daughter's eyes. Her excitement riding through Beverly Hills with Maybel the MOKE, her smile when breakfast arrived in our room and our evening walks together are the memories I'll hold on to the longest.

Sometimes the best trips aren't about packing as much as possible into a schedule. They're about slowing down long enough to enjoy being together. This was one of those trips.
