KoCo Pop-Ups Brings Boutique Shopping to Wherever the Party Is

Some of the best business ideas are born from unexpected opportunities. For Sunny Holte, what began as a simple request during the pandemic quickly evolved into a thriving business that continues to connect women through fashion, friendship, and memorable shopping experiences.
Founded during COVID, KoCo Pop-Ups was inspired by a local vendor who asked Sunny to host a private shopping event to help sell overstocked merchandise. Rather than organize a traditional sale, Sunny envisioned something much bigger. She rented a vacant retail space in Belmont Shore, invited six fellow designers to participate, transformed the space into a stylish boutique, and hosted a three-day pop-up event.
"It only took that first weekend for me to realize this could become something special," she recalls.
Six years later, what started as a part-time passion project has grown into Sunny's full-time career.
Today, KoCo Pop-Ups offers a traveling boutique experience unlike anything else. Each event is thoughtfully curated around its location and audience, creating an atmosphere that feels personal, fun, and completely unique. Whether the pop-up takes place at a private home, on a golf course, or at one of KoCo's remote shopping locations, no two experiences are ever the same.
At the heart of every event is Sunny's carefully selected collection of fashion and lifestyle brands. Her mission is simple: represent only the products she truly loves.
"I really try to curate a collection that feels relevant for stylish and athletic women," she says.
That attention to detail has become the signature of KoCo Pop-Ups. Guests know they'll discover thoughtfully chosen apparel, accessories, and unique finds while enjoying an experience that feels more like gathering with friends than shopping.
One of Sunny's proudest milestones was hosting the Pink Tea Classic at Ever Club on June 20, a beautiful celebration of style, sport, and community. Guests enjoyed an afternoon of fashion, golf, curated shopping, and meaningful time with friends, both old and new. Designed around a chic pink-and-green palette with thoughtful details woven throughout the experience, the event blended femininity with classic country club charm, creating a vibrant celebration both on and off the course. It was also a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported KoCo Pop-Ups over the past six years while celebrating the incredible community of women entrepreneurs and loyal customers who have helped the business flourish.
Looking ahead, Sunny has no plans of slowing down. She is preparing to launch two additional remote shopping locations in Newport Beach while expanding her collection with four new designers, giving shoppers even more opportunities to discover fresh styles close to home.
When she's not planning pop-up events, Sunny enjoys spending time with her family in Yorba Linda, where she and her husband have lived for the past five years. They are proud parents of two sons, with one heading to the University of California, Santa Barbara this fall and the other attending Cornell University. In her free time, you'll often find Sunny working on improving her golf game or enjoying a competitive pickleball match.
Giving back also remains an important part of KoCo Pop-Ups. Sunny proudly supports a variety of charitable organizations and events, including F*ck Cancer, First Tee, and Autism Awareness initiatives, believing that businesses can strengthen the communities they serve.
As KoCo Pop-Ups continues to grow throughout Orange County and into Newport Beach, Sunny remains grateful for everyone who has supported the journey.
Her message to the community: "Thank you."
