Newport Beach’s Iconic Harbor-Front Restaurant Launches Happy Hour

Lighthouse Café, Newport Beach’s charming on-the-harbor hideaway, unveils an expanded patio and introduces Happy Hour just in time for spring.

Nestled in Marina Park on the Newport Beach Peninsula, the harbor-front restaurant is one of the city’s most iconic dining destinations, epitomizing coastal charm. As its name suggests, the restaurant offers patrons the unique experience of dining in a lighthouse made almost entirely of glass and steel, presenting diners with 180-degree views of the harbor, mountain, and city. Lighthouse Café recently expanded its marina-facing patio with 28 additional seats and sleek in-ground heaters. A trio of firepits along the perimeter beckon beachgoers to its glowing patio and boaters to its public dock.

“The one-of-a-kind location became the inspiration for Lighthouse Café,” comments General Manager Travis LeCompte. “Boasting one of the best views of Newport Beach, our patio presents the ideal setting to enjoy a taste of California coastal cuisine while watching boats sail by or the sun sink into the Pacific.”

To complement the expanded patio, the restaurant will offer a Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Shareable appetizers ranging in price from $7.99 to $12.99 include Buffalo Chicken Sliders topped with blue cheese and pickled onions; spicy Ahi Nachos with coleslaw, jalapeño and Fresno chilies, drizzled with chili aioli over wonton chips; and citrus-cured shrimp Ceviche with cucumber, avocado, and Fresno chilies. Guests can also look forward to a selection of $10 signature cocktails, including a Grey Goose Espresso Martini, a Tequila Ocho Paloma with Fever Tree tonic, and a light rum-based Marina Mai-Tai with a float of Goslings Black Seal rum. During Happy Hour, guests can enjoy half-off beers on draft and select wines by the glass.

In addition to its new Happy Hour offerings, Lighthouse Café has also added seasonal updates to its dinner menu for spring, including build-your-own Skirt Steak Tacos served with a trio of sauces including blueberry-habanero salsa, avocado sauce and chimichurri; Pan Roasted Sea Bass in a miso fish broth served over a bed of kale, spring peas, cauliflower; and a Gourmet Burger featuring Wagyu Beef, bourbon bacon jam, grilled onions, and shredded lettuce. Seasonal updates to the three-course Coastal Catch see the addition of salmon to its selection of seafood offerings.

Lighthouse Café is located within Marina Park on the Newport Beach Peninsula (1600 W Balboa Blvd.)  and is open daily, serving brunch, lunch, and dinner from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information about Lighthouse Café, visit https://lighthousenb.com/ and connect with @lighthousecafenb on Instagram and Facebook.
