Newport Aquatic Center

Rowing at the NAC (Newport Aquatic Center) is a formative experience for any athlete who comes through our doors. We believe deeply in building a young person’s character through competition. Over the course of a season, every athlete and every boat is going to face challenges and it’s in those moments where the development happens. 

Our job as coaches is not to remove those challenges, but to help athletes learn how to navigate them. That process is where confidence is built, where resilience is shaped, and where teams start to understand what it means to rely on one another. 

By the end of a season, the group you see is one that has been tested. They’ve been pushed. They’ve grown. And they’re better prepared as rowers and as people. 

The Newport Aquatic Center is a center for excellence where character is shaped and champions are trained. Continuing their journey as rowers at the collegiate level, Michael Betzler and Ella LIn Espinoza will carry forward the champion mindset and strong work ethic that they have gained through their experience at NAC.
