Recovery Redefined - SWTHZ Newport Beach
At the intersection of science-backed wellness and elevated design, Ellianna Oleinik is bringing a fresh approach to recovery in Newport Beach; one that blends intention, luxury, and deeply personal purpose. As the owner of SWTHZ Newport Beach, Ellianna has introduced a concept that is redefining how locals think about self-care and overall well-being.
The journey to opening SWTHZ Newport Beach began in 2023 when Ellianna and her husband discovered the brand through a post on X. With a longstanding passion for health and wellness, she was immediately drawn to the concept and the vision of founder Jamie Weeks. After applying, initially assuming Orange County would already be claimed, they received an unexpected call while on their honeymoon, inviting them to Atlanta for a meet-and-greet. Just two months after signing their franchise agreement, they signed a lease with Peninsula Village and officially opened their Newport Beach location on February 5, 2025.
SWTHZ is a contrast therapy studio offering private, luxury wellness suites designed to help clients reset both physically and mentally. Each suite is fully equipped with an infrared sauna, cold plunge and a Vitamin-C shower, allowing guests to experience the benefits of deliberate heat and cold exposure in one seamless, private environment. Sessions last up to 60 minutes and are completely customizable, whether clients choose to listen to music, watch a show, meditate, or simply unplug.
What sets SWTHZ apart is its meticulous attention to both experience and environment. Unlike traditional setups where saunas and cold plunges are separate—or communal—every element at SWTHZ exists within one private suite. There are no transitions between rooms, no shared spaces and no interruptions. Floor-to-ceiling marble finishes, top-tier equipment, integrated entertainment systems and thoughtfully stocked toiletries elevate the experience even further. After each session, guests can take advantage of the Dyson Beauty Bar to get ready before stepping back out into their day.
In a world that constantly prioritizes comfort, we’ve lost connection with the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Through deliberate exposure to heat and cold, the body activates systems designed to recover, reset, and perform at a higher level. SWTHZ aims to lead the contrast therapy category by delivering a science-backed, luxury experience that meets individuals wherever they are in their wellness journey.
For Ellianna, this business is more than a professional endeavor; it’s deeply personal. Having suffered from debilitating migraines since the age of three, she spent years trying every possible solution. It wasn’t until she incorporated regular sauna sessions into her routine that she experienced meaningful relief. Over time, adding cold plunge therapy further enhanced those results, improving not only her physical health but also her mental clarity and stress levels. That transformation became the driving force behind bringing SWTHZ to Orange County, with the hope of helping others experience similar breakthroughs.
Entrepreneurship is also part of Ellianna’s DNA. Her father founded Pacific Coast Hull in Newport Beach in 1990, and she grew up watching firsthand what it meant to build something from the ground up. That early exposure inspired her to take her own leap at just 23, when she opened The Complexion Bar in Yorba Linda. Within nine months, the business was profitable, and within a year and a half, she had built a full client book. After a decade of success, she decided to pivot into the wellness space with SWTHZ, a move that is already gaining strong momentum.
Today, Ellianna and her husband own the entire Orange County territory for SWTHZ, with ambitious plans to open 13 locations. Their second studio is set to debut this summer at The Row at Red Hill in Santa Ana, with additional expansion opportunities already being explored. At the same time, Ellianna hints at a possible return of The Complexion Bar, reimagined on a larger scale, proving that her entrepreneurial journey is far from finished.
Beyond the business itself, SWTHZ was intentionally designed to be approachable and inclusive. It’s not just for athletes or wellness enthusiasts; it’s for anyone looking to feel better. From busy moms seeking an hour of quiet to executives decompressing after long weeks, from first-time visitors to regular clients, the experience is tailored entirely to the individual. The team guides each guest through their first session, ensuring comfort and confidence every step of the way.
Equally important is the studio’s commitment to cleanliness and care. Every suite is thoroughly reset and sanitized after each use, creating a pristine environment that clients can rely on every time they walk through the doors. For Ellianna, that level of detail is non-negotiable—it’s part of delivering an experience that feels both luxurious and trustworthy.
Ellianna’s connection to the Newport Beach community runs deep. Having lived here for the past three and a half years, she finds daily inspiration in the coastal lifestyle, the energy of local entrepreneurs and the strong sense of community. Whether it’s walking along the beach to reset, enjoying the vibrant dining scene, or simply appreciating the peninsula's walkability, she describes Newport as a place where people genuinely support one another and local businesses.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find Ellianna paddleboarding in the harbor, boating, attending services at Mariner's Church with her husband, or watching the sunset along the coast. Giving back is also an important part of her vision. Ellianna partners with Mariner’s Church on community initiatives and hosts monthly wellness events designed to bring people together. On a more personal level, her husband’s loss of his mother to cancer has inspired her to explore ways SWTHZ can support patients recovering from chemotherapy through detox and recovery sessions. She is also passionate about developing programs to support veterans’ mental health through contrast therapy; initiatives she hopes to implement in the near future.
Looking ahead, her goals extend beyond business growth. While expanding SWTHZ across Orange County remains a top priority, starting a family is equally important to her. It’s this balance of ambition and intention that fuels everything she is building, creating not just successful businesses but a meaningful legacy.
