16th Annual Field of Honor
Each year, the Exchange Club of Newport Beach places 1776 flags in Castaways Park, Newport Beach to honor the men and women who have served this country. From Armed Forces Day through Memorial Day, Castaways Park will be transformed into a Field of Honor where large American Flags will display the red, white, and blue will line the park’s pathways, and patriotic art and other displays will be intermixed among the flags.

Spirit Run’s 41 year history
From 1983-2010, PTAs from five Newport Beach elementary schools presented spirit run and shared its net proceeds. In 2010, Newport mesa spirit run, INc. (NMSRI), a California 501(c)(3) non profit, was founded to continue Spirit Run. It invited local public and private schools, youth sports programs, and other select causes to participate in spirit Run and share in its net proceeds.
